Crime noir film aesthetic research

February 16th 2021  I did research on crime noir movies to have inspiration for our movie. There are several codes and conventions of film noir. I've found some of the most recurrent codes and conventions. The Anti-hero protagonist: Most of these movies have protagonist that dwell in the middle of the dark and light side. This main characters are not the typical heroes that do everything right and are always ethically correct. They're flawed and cynical men that are not completely good and have tragic pasts. The Femme Fatale: This characters are strong and independent women who exploit their feminine side for their own interests. They're often lethal and don't care about anyone except their selves and sometimes their children. Analysis of "The Mandalorian"

February 4th 2021 I've started recently watching "The Mandalorian". It is a Disney + show based on the Star Wars universe that follows the events after the fall of the empire. This show is really well done and like every Star Wars movie has an amazing sound production in general. I tried to analyze what makes the soundtrack great and also I analyzed every film making technique I could find in the show. It was really an inspiration for our project because even though the show is not a mystery and murder show, like our movie. It has lots of thriller elements. The show is basically a space western and it has all of its elements. Like the suspenseful close ups and the intrigue that's created in duels and fights in general.

These artists need to watch the whole film before making this sounds. There are two types of foley sound: Diegetic and nondiegetic sound. Diegetic sound consists of all the sounds that exist inside the movie's world, this consists of the voices of people, music that characters can hear and any sounds that happen inside this world. Nondiegetic sound consists of all the sounds that are added on top of the movie, this sounds cannot be heard by any character and some examples are: Narrations and s...
